Suffered heart attack in Charlottesville, Virginia and was taking to the hospital and had to convince is wife to let him fly home to Texas and LBJ survived but he continued smoking and often had to lay down and breath from an oxygen tank -
Call from Nixon
President Richard Nixon called him at his ranch to tell him that peace in Vietnam was coming. LBJ told him he just got off the phone with his doctors and he was suffering from chest pain and Nixon said "I called you at the wrong time." -
Death
LBJ died of a heart attack in San Antonio Texas and is now buried in the Johnson family cemetery
