Learning engagement 2. The IB future projections

  • Launching IB curriculum

IB curriculum has been started in 1968
  • Launching IBDP curriculum in SPCC

SPCC has started offering IBDP curriculum to local and oversea students. Grade 9 students can choose whether they would like to take IBDP/ HKDSE (local curriculum) in Grade 10.
  • SPCC Nine attributes with IB student profile development

In order to create a school culture to nourish student characters aligning with IB student profile, SPCC 9 attributes have been developed to allow students has stronger sense of the idea of student profile. All the school activities are based on these 9 attributes.
  • Launching IB middle year program

I am not sure whether the school has such a plan. But I think that's a good idea to develop the mindset needed in IBDP in an earlier age. This is due the local curriculum more focus on the knowledge part and the lecture is more in a teacher-to-student format with a packed learning time and curriculum.
On the other hand, it is better for us as educators to think about how to bring IB ideas to our local curriculum. it really takes time as the national curriculum is very much different from IB.
  • Thinking of the teaching strategies that can cater for SEN students.

Cannot see much on the implementation and teaching strategies on teaching students with SEN using IB curriculum.
