The Conflict
Tamara needs to prove that Muscle Man McGinty is a liar without losing the approval of her friends and posibly losing kickball privilages. -
Rising Action 1
Muscle Man McGinty lies about eating ice cream the day before (when there wasn't any). Then Mr. Grabowsky says that if he could eat another one, he could buy it.Muscle Man says OK. Tamara is annoyed. -
Exposition: Setting
Place: Ramble Street Date: June 1969 -
Exposition: Characters
TAMARA: Tamara thinks Muscle Man McGinty is a lier and is very annoyed about it. MUSCLE MAN McGINTY: Muscle Man overexagerates and lies. He is an orphan and sometimes sort of nice. -
Rising Action 2
Tamara and Big Danny are banned from kickball for two days because Big Danny stole money and Tamara kicked Muscle Man McGinty. -
Rising Action 3
When Tamara is banned, she starts thinking about Kebsie moving away. She still can't get over it because Kebsie left without letting her know. She writes a letter to Kebsie. -
Rising Action 4
Tamara doesn't know where to mail the letter. Muscle Man McGinty says he knows where she lives and if Tamara gives the letter to him he will mail it. Tamara doesn't want to give the letter to him, but, grudgingly, she does. -
Rising Action 5
Muscle Man McGinty declairs that Neil Armstrong is his uncle. Tamara can't believe it. She is very angry. -
Rising Action 6
Tamara makes fun of Muscle Man McGinty. She says he is no good at kick ball.Muscle Man McGinty gets angry for the first time. -
CLIMAX
Muscle Man McGinty says that he can beat the whole street at kickball. This is surprising because he is new and everybody else has been on Ramble St. for years. -
Falling Action 1
Tamara uses her special poweras to get her brother, Tim to call. She has to try really hard. This means the connection between her and her brother might be breaking a little. -
Falling Action 2
Rain cancels the game Tamara is angry because she thinks this will give Muscle Man McGinty time to think of a way out of playing the game. -
Falling Action 3
Big Danny eats to much ice cream and throws up on the field. The game is postponed for yet another day. Tamara is furious. -
Falling Action 4
Tim's friend, Vinnie Pizzarelli, got killed in the Vietnam war. Tim cries. Tamara writes back to Kebsie, even though she promised herself she wouldn't. -
Falling Action 5
The kids on Ramble St. decide not to continue the game and let Muscle Man McGinty of the hook. Tamara disagrees because she still needs to prove that Muscle Man McGinty is a liar. -
Falling Action 6
Tamara finds out that Muscle Man McGinty is writing the letters from Kebsie. He says that he only wants to make her feel better, but she doesn't believe him. She punches him many times and her friends have to pull her away from him to keep him from getting seriosly hurt. She is grounded for two months. -
Resolution 2
Mr. Pizzarelli finds them and takes them in the bar. They sit down at a table. Tamara feels that sitting with Mr. Pizzarelli and Muscle Man McGinty is just where she wants to be. -
Resolution 3
After Tamara, Muscle Man McGinty, and Mr. Pizzarelli watch the first moonwalk at the bar, they drop tamara off at her house. She thanks Muscle Man McGinty. This shows that their friendship has grown a LOT. Then, after Muscle Man McGinty and Mr. Pizzarelli leave, Tamara howls at the moon, just like Kebsie used to do. -
Resolution 1
Muscle Man McGinty apologizes to Tamara for writing the fake letters. Tamara apologizes for punching him. They go see the first moonwalk on the edge of a bar called Canyon's Pub and Grill.
