  • Origin of John Dupre

    John Dupre was born on July 3rd, 1952. He is a well known British philosopher who mostly focuses on the philosophy of Biology. He was educated at the University oif Oxford and the University of Cambridge. He then went to teach at Stanford and Birbeck College of the University of London.
  • The Disorder of Things

    The Disorder of Things
    "The Disorder of Things" was one of Dupre's first major books to be published. Dupre introduced his argument against reductionism, which set a solid foundation for his later works.

  • Neo- Darwinism critique

    Dupre is a long-standing critic of neo-Darwinism and the psychology of evolution. This states that large evolutionary changes arose from environmental changes under the condition fo relaxed natural selection. He was recognized in 2010 for his critiques and was chosen as Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
  • Reductionism and Anti-reductionism

    Dupre would speak a lot about discussions of reductionism and anti-reductionism. He argued against reductionism which advocates that not all properties of a system can be explained in terms of its constituent parts and their actions.
