  • The Louisiana Purchase

    President Jefferson wanted to buy New Orleans from France. He ended up buying the entire Louisiana territory from France in 1802. The Louisiana Territory is located in modern day Central America, west of the Mississippi River. Jefferson doubled the size of the country by purchasing the Louisiana Territory. Jefferson had an idea that every white man had the right to own his own farm, or property. With the newly acquired land, his dream became possible.
