  • Apple's Newton - John Scully

    Apple's Newton - John Scully
    Apple's first release in the handheld computer world was the Newton. It defined the future of handheld computers, regardless of the invention's poor performance. Production was discontinued in 1998.
  • Playstation - Sony

    Sony released the first Playstation in collaboration with Nintendo. This home gaming system sold more than 100,000,000 Playstations with their initial release, and these computers, although they have been updated, are used widely today.
  • Compact Disk Rewritable (CD-RW) - Philips

    The CD-RW was created to store data and transfer it from to computer to computer with ease. They were effective to a certain extent, because they could be overwritten about 1,000 times and were unable to read on some drives. DVD's eventually took over the niche that CD-RW's held.
