I walked next to my buisness and all of a sudden it was on fire. All of a sudden thugs jumped out and started taunting me yelling Jew, Jew, Jew. I couldnt take it anymore.I 24 year old Alexander Rothschild had decided that I was going to go to America. There were many buisness oppurtunities in America and I could finally have my religion tolerated. -

Arrival in America
I had brought to America 10 Million hard earned dollars and a first class boat ticket was but with that money. When I arrivied I immediatly went to the nearest bank and bought it with a sanp of my finger. After that I went and bought myself a few other buisnesses that I believed would get me some profit. I then hired myself some bodyguards and deperated into the dark night looking for a house that looked appealing. After all I was rich. -
Expanding political influence
I was a very succesful man in New York City and on November 20th I could say that I became a political machine. I provided many of the new immigrants with food, clothing and, shelter and they gave me a very important thing ; votes for my brother. My brother Nathaniel Rothschild was elected and became the New York CIty mayor. I felt like a good older brother even though I was younger then Nathaniel. -
Decline in New York City
I am very sad to say that I have to leave my adopted city of New York. The situation is getting extreme with 4 of my 5 banks getting robbed within a weeks length. Many of my buisnesses have also been stormed but not by an unkown source but protestants. I think they feared that power would slip out of their control and that America would become the Jews and the Catholics land. I have decided to go west to escape their persecution and to set up buisnesses and invest in the gold rush. -
Arrival in the West
I have finally arrivied in the west and found a city that has the potential to be greater then New York. Here in San Francisco I have bought many buisnesses including all the mining equipment companies and many banks. The gold miners look determined mining on a mountain just discovered. There are not many of them since the Chinese havent been able to arrive here because of the Chinese Exclusion Act. I have invested my money in these miners and hope that money can get me some more wealth. -
Disaster and Joy in San Francisco
I have over one week experienced great joy and great sadness. My investments in the gold miners payed off and I was overjoyed to hear that the miners had found a gold vein worth at least 400 million Dollars. The sadness that came to me was that 2 of my sweatshops in San Franciso were destroyed in a fire.I lost lots of money and many workers lost their lives. The Chinese Exclusion Act is still around and finding workers that are willing to work long hours for little pay is hard. -
Expanding political influence in San Francisco
I have become a political Machine in the City of San Francisco. I have succesfully gotten my friend Yuri Rubenstein elected as Mayor. People think that all we political bosses do is force people to vote for specific candidates but without us much of the cities public areas would be nonexistant. I have supported many charities and used my money to build parks and public buildings for the city of San Francisco. One day people will appreciate all I have done but apparently that day is not today.
