Implantation-3 weeks
The blastocyst has impanted itself in the uterus. Amniotic fluid is beginning to collect around the blastocyst which will soon become the amniotic sac. -
Neural Tube
The Neural Tube is beginning to develop this will cause the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and backbone to sprout. -
Nose, Mouth & Ears
At six weeks the nose, mouth and ears will start to develop. This looks like an oversized head with holes where these will be. The arms and legs are little buds on the body. The heart is beating about 100-160 times a minute. The baby is about a quarter of a inch long. -
Hands and Feet
At seven weeks the embryo's hands and feet are emerginf from the arms and legs. It is about a half inch long, about the size of a blueberry. -
Nine Weeks
At nine weeks the baby is about an inch long and weighs a fraction of an ounce, about the size of a grape. The heart is finished dividing into four chambers, and the valves and teeth are developing. The "Tail" is completely gone. Eyes are fully formed, but are fused shut. -
Now a Fetus! Whoohoo!
At ten weeks the baby is a little over an inch long. The embrionic stage is over, and the baby is now a fetus. The baby is swallowing fluid and beginning to kick. The vital organs are in place and starting to function, nails are beginning to appear on fingers and toes, and peach-fuzz hair is beginning to form on the body. The limbs can now bend, and spinal nerves are beginning to strech out from the spinal cord. -
Reflexes
At 12 weeks the most dramatic development is in process- Reflexes. The babies fingers will open and close, eye muscles will clench, the mouth will make sucking motions, and if you poke your abdomen, the baby might squirm in response. The baby is just over two inches long, and weighs about a half an ounce. -
Beginning of second Trimester
The first trimester has ended now the second is beginning. -
14 weeks
The baby can now squint, grimace, pee, and possible suck it's thumb! The baby can also grasp. The baby is now about 3 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. The baby starts developing lanugo, and it's liver is producing bile. The baby is now actively punching and kicking -
Lungs!
At 15 weeks the primitive air sacs (lungs) are beginning to develop. -
Senses!
At fifteen weeks the baby's senses are developing. Even though the baby's eyes are fused shut, the baby might move if you shine a flashlight on the tummy. The taste buds are also forming. The baby is about 4 inches long, and weighs about 2 1/2 ounces, about the size of an apple. -
Boy or Girl?
Also at week 15 the sex of the baby can be determind by ultrasound, but it all depends on the pictures clarity and the babys position. -
18 Weeks
At this point the baby is now about 5 1/2 inches long and weighs about 7 ounces. Myelin is beginning to form around the nerves. If it's a girl, the uterus and fallopian tubes are now in place. -
22 weeks
At 22 weeks the baby is about 11 inches and weighs one pound -
26 weeks
Over the past month the baby has been growing and accumulating fat to prepare it for the outside world. The baby is now about 14 inches and weighs 1 2/3 Lbs. -
Beginning of third trimester
the third trimester is beginning -
30 Weeks
Now the baby is about 15.7 inches long and weighs almost three pounds. The baby can open it's eyes now and has about 20/400 vision, they will stay closed most of the day. -
34 Weeks
At 34 weeks the baby is 4 3/4 lbs and almost 18 inches long.The lungs are continuing to mature. -
37 weeks
The baby is now full term. It's about 6 1/3 pounds and a bit over 19 inches. The baby has real hair, and is sheding the vernix caseosa, and probably moving into the head down position if it isn't already there. -

The first stage of labor is where the cervix gradually thins out and opens -
Second Stage of Labor
The second stage of labor is when the cervix is fully dialated and it ends with the birth of the baby. -
third stage of labor
The third stage begins right after the birth of your baby and ends with the delivery of the placenta.
