In these chapters we meet a man and a women named Jack and Stephanie. The two are on their way to signing their divorce papers when they missed their turn. They come across a creepy and rude patrol man that right off the bat doesn't like Jack. When road construction comes up ahead, Jack and Stephanie are faced with a decision, Go back home or try to make it to their appointment on time with the detour. The detour is taken and they get even more lost. Suddenly a place comes into sight.... -

Jack and Stephanie arrived at the Wayside Inn and they have met another couple, Randy and Leslie. All four of them are alone in this house when the lights go out and they are forced to find an electricity box. When all of a sudden an old woman shows up in the pantry and sets everything up for dinner. But this lady is very strange and pushy. -

Jack, Stephanie, Leslie, and Randy get ready for dinner when things started to get tense between the guests and the house keepers. When strange things started to happen Stephanie went outside and stopped right in her tracks. There was a man shaped figured at the end of the walkway.... -

Randy got so angry that he shot the door to bits. As the was not door left there was a truck in fron tof the house. Sitting there waiting. As they were all watching, the truck went forward at full speed and crashed into the front door. Blocking off their way of escaping the house. -
Chapter 8-Chapter 9 97-112 (15)
Stewart and Betty become more intimidating as they push Jack, Randy, Leslie, and Stephanie into their meat locker. Jack's mind was racing. Thinking of a way to get the shotgun out of Stewarts hands. As he offers himself up to be killed, Stewart keeps his eyes and the barrel on Jack. When Stewart turns around, Jack and Randy jump on him. Stephanie escapes and Leslie fights Betty who has a meat cleaver. -
Chapter 11-Chapter 14 145-182 (37)
Jack and Randy head downstairs as the house becomes even more sketchy. Downstairs isn't very normal. It is made of all concrete and has multiple hallways and very many doors. What's behind the doors is to be discovered. As Jack and Randy run through the rooms they come across a mirror that shows everything but their reflection. -
Chapter 16 - Chapter 17 194-208 (14)
Randy is now in what seems like the same basement but flooded with water. When Stewart is right on his heels with the shot gun Randy finds his way into a room. This room ends up having a pipe tunnel in it. It is big enough to where he can squeeze through. When he gets into what seems like another room Stewart goes through the pipe. Too bad for him because he got stuck. But if he was stuck that meant Randy was stuck. As Randy tried to get Stewart out the water kepy getting higher and higher. -
Chapter 16-Chapter 21 194-238 (44)
Stewart got unstuck from the hole in the wall but did end up drowning. Even though this was the one dead body White wanted he whisperd down the hallways to Randy that he didn't count. And as Randy turned around, Stewart was gone. In another oart of the room Jack was with the little girl named Susan that he ended up finding in the little room of to the side. She brought him to a little door that lead to the back of a closet in the basement. Which ended up being in Pete's bedroom. Leslie was found -
Chapter 21-Chapter 29 298-341 (43)
Jack, Stephanie, Randy, and Leslie find eachother and try to figure out what is going witht the house. Is it haunted? Is it alive? What's going on? And as they begin to run through the halls they run into White, the man that's trying to kill them. He's not very happy because no one is dead yet. And the house attendants dont count. 4:25 AM.
