    Now known as the Defense Advanced Reaserch Project Agency, DARPA , was first known as the ARPA (Advanced Research Project Agency). It was created by Dwight D. Eisenhower. The point behind this was to form, execute, and develop projects and research, that would enlargen the fields of techonology and science as well, mostly for the military.
