    This is the first act that restricted immigration.

    Suspended chinese immigration in to the U.S.
  • Immigration Act of 1903

    This law added 4 new classes of people;anarchist, beggars, people with epilepsy, and prostitutes, that were not allowed to immigrate in to the U.S.
  • immigration Act of 1917

    Asian immigrants were not allowed in to the U.S, This act also made immigrants take reading test.
  • Johnson-Reed Act

    This limited the number of immigrants that could be admitted in to the United States.
  • Chinese Exclusion Repeal Act

    This repealed the chinese exclusion act and allowed chinese nationals that lived in the United States already citizenship.
  • McCarran-Walter Act

    It liberalized the immigratoion of asian's into america. This also made it legal for immgirants suspected of communism or commuist acts to be deported.
  • Immigration Reform and Control Act

    Gave immigrants who were living in the U.S. for so long a chance for citizenship, but it made it illegal to hire immigrants.
