HISTORY OF COMPUTERS

  • FIRST GENERETION COMPUTERS

    FIRST GENERETION COMPUTERS
They use a vacuum tubes. A vacuum tubes consist of a glass bulb an wire. They were so big. First generetion computers were very large, expensive and required huge amount of electricity.
  • SECOND GENERETION COMPUTERS

    SECOND GENERETION COMPUTERS
The second generetion computers used transistors insted of vacuum tubes. As transistors are samller than vacuum tubes the computers became much smaller in size they also become faster and cheaper.
  • THIRD GENERATION COMPUTERS

    THIRD GENERATION COMPUTERS
Integreted cicuits were introduced during the development of third generation computers an integreted circuits or IC is as small as a transistor but it can work as fast as thousand of them. Integreted circuits made computers faster, chaper and smaller than the second generation computers. They used less electricity and made fewer mistakes.
  • FOURTH GENERETION COMPUTERS

    FOURTH GENERETION COMPUTERS
The computer developed since 1975 up to the present are called the fourth generetion computers. The fourth generetion computer uses micro processors. A microprocessor consists of a small silicon chip on which thousands of circuits are placed. The fourth generetion computers are smaller, portable and cheaper. They use less electricity and produce less heat.
  • FIFTH GENERETION COMPUTERS

    FIFTH GENERETION COMPUTERS
Computers that are currently being researched and developed on the fifth generetion computers. These computers are the most advanced computers. Scientist are now trying to develop fifth generetion computers in a way that they can think on their own. This is called artificial intelligence (AI) robots.
