    Mexican immigration

  • Immigration Act of 1924

  • The Community Service Organization (CSO) is founded

  • The Mexican American Political Association (MAPA) is founded

    It is an organization that promotes the interests of Mexican-Americans, Mexicans, Latinos, Chicanos, Hispanics and Latino Economic Refugees in the United States. It became the primary political voice for the Mexican-American community of California.
  • The United Farm Workers Organizing Committe (UFWOC) is formed

    The United Farm Workers Organizing Committe is a labor union created from the merging of two groups, the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) led by Filipino organizer Larry Itliong, and the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) led by César Chávez.
  • Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965

    It abolished the National Origins Formula that had been in place in the United States since the Immigration Act of 1924. An annual limitation of 300,000 visas was established for immigrants, including 170,000 from Eastern Hemisphere countries, with no more than 20,000 per country.
  • Rodolfo "Corky" González is fired from the Neighborhood Youth Corps Directorship. Soon after, he founds the Crusade for Justice in Denver, Colorado.

    "El Año del Mexicano"

    "El Año del Mexicano" is formed through several organizations interested in the political development of the Chicano Community.
  • The voting Act of 1965 is extended to "Hispanic Americans"

  • Radio KDNA is created

    Radio KDNA is established as a Apanish language, public radio station in Granger. The station works to provide music, information and other radio based initiatives and has long been recognised nationally for its progressive programming.
