Glass Teletype
The Glass Teletype was created during the ‘60s. This display was an effective display than using paper from a computer. It was an actual display rather than using paper. Although it was released in the ‘60s, it became very popular in the ’70s.

Composite Video
The Composite Video was created Don Lancaster, Lee Felsenstein, and Steve Wozniak. In the 70’s, Glass Teletypes were too expensive. So, the inventors came up with a cheap solution to solve the problem by using a CCTV display as a monitor. These were used for The Apple I.

Plasma Display
Scene Description:Plasma displays stared to emerge in the late ‘70s. It used two plates of glass and trapped gas on the inside to create an image. The Plato IV Terminal used this monitor. Although the display never took off, it was used to create televisions later on.

Macintosh (Presicion Display)
The Macintosh displays were 512 by 342 pixels. It was very popular, but it only supported black and white coloring. They were known for their color accuracy.

LCD Displays
In the 1990’s, demand for the LCD screen. As the years went by, the contrast in the screen was better. Backlight was added for viewing in the dark. There were better angles. So, the LCD improved the display.

Present Day Screens
Present Day Monitors have been very different compared to the old displays. They consume less electricity, generate better graphics (more pixels per inch), and etc. Many monitors now include the computer towers. For example, the iMac has a combined display and tower.
