  • Harriet taking a blow to the head

Harriet taking a blow to the head
While Harriet was in her teen years, she was defending another slave that was on the run. The overseer through weights trying to knock down the runaway slave but Harriet stepped in the way and ended up getting hit in the head. I put this photo first because it was while she was young and it came before any other events. She was the youngest in this photo. She was about 12.
  • Runaway poster

    Runaway poster
In this poster Harriet and her brothers planned an escape, and escaped. This poster was issued for the people around to keep an eye out for the runaway slaves. I put this photo here because in the poster Harriet is said to be 27 years old. She is still pretty young. I think this happened after she was struck by they weights and she was okay to plan an escape.
  • Harriet Tubman

    Harriet Tubman
In this photo Harriet is not smiling, and she seems very put together. She seems very young in this picture. I put this photo before any other portraits because she seems very young and in the others she seems to be older in the rest of the portraits.
  • Harriet in the Civil War

    Harriet in the Civil War
In the photo it is showing Harriet holding a riffle as she participated in the Union Army during the Civil war. I put this photo here because after she served she earned a pass from the government for her to travel and purchase the items she may want. Before this photo is a portrait of Harriet, and I think in this photo she looks older than she did in the portrait.
  • Harriet's Pass

    Harriet's Pass
After all of Harriet's hard work, she finally received a pass to travel free. She received this pass from the government. She could travel freely, and purchase what she wanted. I put this photo here because she received this pass in 1863, and the photos after seem to be older and after she received the pass.
  • Harriet Tubman

    Harriet Tubman
This quote is an explanation of how she feels about slavery. She explains how she should fight for herself and her liberty. I put this photo here because I think this was during the civil war, while Harriet was serving. I think she wrote this hoping for one day slaves to be free. This quote may have been published after she may have been married or after she earned her pass and after she served in the army.
  • Harriet Tubman Portrait

    Harriet Tubman Portrait
In this photo Harriet seems to be posing for a picture, and her scar from being hit in the head as a teen is visible. I put this photo here because Harriet seems to be aging and Harriet seems to be 75 in this picture. This happened 63 years later after she was struck by the weights.
  • Harriet's Portrait

    Harriet's Portrait
In this photo, Harriet is the age 93. She was known as Moses and spent her time and dedication to her people. What she did was extraordinary and beyond. I put this picture here because Harriet looks elderly and her aging has caught up. In this photo she doesn't look as old as the one after this one and the ones before she still looks young.
  • Harriet Tubman

    Harriet Tubman
In this photo Harriet seems to be very old. She is posing for a picture and this seems to be one of the last photo's of her. I put this picture here because it was one of the last pictures ever taken of Harriet. Out of all the other portraits I think she looks the oldest here than in any other photo.
  • Harriet Tubman Street Sign

    Harriet Tubman Street Sign
This sign is honoring Harriet and all her journeys. She has done so much for her people. She earned the nickname "Moses". She is a constant giver and went back several times to help slaves from her city. She was very bold. I put this photo here because it was posted around the time that Harriet passed away. In the other photos she was still alive and doing well. This was a memorial, which means it was posted after she passed.
  • Harriet Tubman Back Pay

    Harriet Tubman Back Pay
A group of Middle school students from Albany New York, finally got Harriet some of her pay in 2003. They started this project in 2002. After meeting with the Governor, he decided to grant $11,750 to Harriet's Museum. I put this photo here because it was a recent event. Out of the other pictures this hadn't happened until after Harriet passed away.
  • Harriet Tubman's Gravestone

    Harriet Tubman's Gravestone
Still to this day, flowers and other decorations are put on her grave. This is to honor all her hard work, and her. She started as just a young slave, and now she's a worldwide figure. I put this photo last because it's still to this day a memorial. This photo is the last photo used to remind us of Harriet Tubman.
