  • Victoria Being The Richest

    At that time when there was a gold rush in Victoria , Victoria was the richest goldfield state with about 10000 tones of gold found in in just the 1850's
  • New South Wales.

    Edward Hargraves discovered gold in Bathurst in 1851
  • Vitoria

    Governor La Trobe offered a reward for anyone who was able to find gold in Victoria. This offer was made to stop everyone moving to New South Wales. Thomas Hiscosk was rewarded £ 1,000 for finding gold.
  • South Australia

    The South Australia Government offered a reward of £1,000 to the first miner who could find payable gold in the colony of 1851.
  • Vitoria

    Gold had been found in Ballarat and 20,000 miners came to pan for gold .
  • Queensland

    In 1858 victorians alone rushed to port Curtis. However, the promise of finding gold was very difficult and also the findings of cold were very little too. The victorian government had to donate 15,0000 dollars so the miners could come back and return home

    In 1867 John Nash discovered gold in Gympie. It didn't take long for this news to get around and two months later 25,000 miners had relocated to Gympie in the hope of finding gold

    In 1871 construction workers were building an overland telegraph line between Alice Springs and Darwin and when they were digging down they found gold by addicient. A great deal of the workers left the line job in search of finding more gold.

    Western Australia was actually the last state to join the gold rush,however Western Australian turned out to be the richest state.
  • Western Australia (coolgardie.)

    In 1892, Arthur Bayley and Williams Flat found gold near a water hole in coolgardie. It was this discovery that started the town .
  • Tasmania (tamar river.)

    The Tamer River mine produced £77,2671 worth of gold by 1905 ,however in 1914 the mine was no longer productive and it then shut down and closed.
