Geological Timeline.

  • Cambrian Period. 570 to 500 MYA.

Cambrian Period. 570 to 500 MYA.
This was the time when Trilobites were dominant and when most of the major groups of anmials were fossilized.
  • Ordovician Period 500 MYA to 435 MYA.

Ordovician Period 500 MYA to 435 MYA.
Starfish, sandollars, sea urchin, and sea cucumbers. Invertibrates became dominant. The earlier face did not have jaws yet, they haven't developed. Around this time the earth was very tropical and almost entirely ocean. It had animals like red and green algae, primitive fish, chephalopods, corals, crinoids, and gatropods. The weather was mild climate an the weather was warm, and the atmosphere carried alot of moisture.
  • Silurian Period. 435 M- 395M

    Silurian Period. 435 M- 395M
The earliest time period with plants and animals. In this timeline the animals and plants started emerging on the earth. The temperatures kept climbing and the sea levels kept raising. There was really only fish in this time period. The first fish didn't really develop jaws. Also spiders, centipedes, and plants.
  • Devonian Period. 395 M- 345M

    Devonian Period. 395 M- 345M
Armored fish go extinct and the earliest amphibians and ammomites come about. It contained fossils of the Zosterophyllophytes and Trimerophytes, the two major vascular plants. The earth consisted of all smaller plants, only being about a meter tall. Devonians, horse plants, and ferns were the majority of the plants. It also produced the first tree and forrests. The first terrestrial arthropods, including wingless insects
  • Carboniferous Period 345M-280M .

    Carboniferous Period 345M-280M .
Abdundant sharks and amphibians around this time it also has large swamps and coal forming forests. The earliest reptiles were scale trees, and seed ferns. This period is famous for its large majority of coal swamps.
  • Permian Period. 280 M-225M

    Permian Period. 280 M-225M
In this period an extinction of many marine animals took place including triphoblites. Also great forests took place in this time as well.
  • Triassic- 225M-195M

    Triassic- 225M-195M
New animals were being created as old ones were dying, because of the new animals creation. There was an explosion of cycads, ferns, and ginfko trees. There was a million dinosaurs because of vegetation.
  • Triassic- 225M-195M

    Triassic- 225M-195M
Earliest animals and birds and abdundant dinosars were around. Alot of plant eating dinosars were roaming around eating ferns. Oceans were full of fish and squids.
  • Cretaceous- 136M-65M

    Cretaceous- 136M-65M
Earliest flowering plants, climax of dinosaurs followed by their extinction. Great decline of brachiopods. Abundance of bony fish.
Also during this time, we find the first fossils of many insect groups, modern mammal and bird groups, and the first flowering plants.
  • Tertiary- 65 M- 1.8M

    Tertiary- 65 M- 1.8M
Earliest Placental Mammals, modern mammals, large running mammals. In this period the tropic was starting to cool to the Ice Age. The plants were the same as they are today, and a good majority of the mammals were whiped out. All reptiles, dinosaurs, and other species.
  • Quaternary- 1.8 M – Present

    Quaternary- 1.8 M – Present
Large Carnivores, Neanderthals, Humans, mastodons. By this time the continents were where they are today but the planet was on its way around the sun. On land, the chilliest stretches of the Quaternary saw mammals like mammoths, rhinos, bison, and oxen grow massive and don shaggy coats of hair.
