    Franz Peter Schubert was born on January 31st, 1797 in Vienna, Austria. He was the fourth son of a schoolmaster, Franz Theodor Schubert and Elizabeth Vietz was a domestic servant.

    He was a really shy boy, so in his spare time, he would compose or practise alone. He was inspired to compose Gretchen am Spinnrade by reading Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Faust.

    He composed symphonies No.2 to No.5. In 1817, he lived with his friend and he wrote some piano sonatas because he didnt own a piano.
