  • Professor Marcello Malpighi takes note of the different styles of characteristics in the finger tip such as spirals, loops and ridges in fingerprints. Important because this is how we learn the difference in finger prints.

  • Johannes Evengelista Purkinje made a thesis of speaking of how fingerprints can be used to identify an individual. Important because this is the start of studying fingerprints to identify someone.

  • The book "Fingerprints" was published. This is important because it tells the first classification system for fingerprints.
