    The United States and Japan are in combat in WW2. They are at a stalemate fighting over small islands in the pacific. The United States wants a weapon that could end the war. A group of scientists got together and they created the atom bomb. The first one was dropped on July 16 1945. It only took 2 days for japan to surrender when he US started to bomb them.

    Jackie Robinson made history as the first black person to play in the mlb. At this time racism was at large in the United States and the mlb was for "whites only", This all changed when the Brookine Dodgers(now the Los Angels Dodgers) signed Robinson. His debut was on April 15, 1947 against the Boston Braves(now the Atlanta Braves).

    Castro is unhappy when the dictator Fulgencia Batista takes over Cuba. He forms an elaborate rebellion with each member playing a specific role. The whole rebellion had an estimated 1500 members total. He was eventually captured by Batista and imprisoned, he would be released in 1955.

    When Castro is released from prison he goes to Mexico with some of his followers, but he is being tracked by Batista. He and his "Fidelists" were hiding away in Mexico plotting on how to overthrow Batista. He is found again and imprisoned. When he gets out he and his Fidelists go back to Cuba and launch an attack on the capital Havana. Most of his rebellion is killed and the rest are forced to flee to a mountaionus region of Cuba called the Sierra Maestra.

    In the year 1957 The USSR did something never done before. They launched 2 satellites into orbit named Sputnik I and Sputnik II. They collected information about space and sent it to the USSR. This put the USSR ahead in the ongoing "space race" with the United States.

    Batista's view in the public eye worsens as he is brutal to anyone who even shows the slightest of opposition towards him. Many of the people stop supporting Batista and begin to support Castro. This is where Castro's movement begins to get heard.

    Batista flees Cuba fearing that he is soon going to be overthrown. He appoints Manuel Urrutia to be the president and Jose Miro Cardona as prime minister. It is clear that Castro is pulling the strings behind the government bodies and both resign soon after.

    United States orders the Soviet Union to take their nuclear missiles out of Cuba. United States does a naval quarantine which upsets Castro. President John F. Kennedy and the leader of the Soviet Union Nikita Khruschev negotiate a deal. If the Soviet Union gets rid of their missiles in Cuba then the Untied States would get rid of their in Turkey, World War 3 was almost started for the Cuban missile crisis.

    Castro made a new constitution that reflected the changes he imposed over his prior 17 years of ruling. Stated that Cuba's Communist Party was the highest of the state. The constitution granted freedom of speech as long as it was not anti government and in accordance with the socialist party. Also provided things like free education, free medical care and dental care. Any of these could be suspended at any time if a person revolted against the government.

    Before this time it was illegal to leave Cuba. Castro changed all of this in 1994 when he allowed the people to freely enter and exit Cuba. This was the first time in a long time this could happen and it was considered a big deal.

Going up against the "greatest show on turf" St.Louis Rams(now Los Angels Rams) which included players like Isaac Bruce Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, and Torry Holt. Tied at 17 with less than a minute left deep in Patriots terratory young quarterback Tom Brady led the underdog patriots into Rams terratory to set up an Adam Vinnetari field goal. Brady would go on to win 4 more in his ongoing career.

    Fidel Castro becomes very ill and has surgery for intestinal bleeding. He steps down from office and gives his title to his younger brother Raul. Rumors break out that he is dead or his condition is terminal. This isn't the case and many pictures of an alive Castro are circulated in newspapers and on television. He eventually made a televised statement explaining his condition. He retook office in the Spring of 2007.

    On June 29th the company apple produced their first smartphone called iphone. While it is severely obsolete it was the gateway to what we have today. It didn't even allow the purchase of apps but it got use the internet which was revolutionary.

    It wasn't a huge surprise to see Castro pass. His health had been declining over the past decade. He died in Havana Cuba at the old age of 90.
