    New Farmers of America

    This organization allowed for African American agriculture classes.
    The colors were black and gold. This is found in mostly southern states
  • Smith-Hughes Act

    This act is named after a senator from Georgia. This act provided federal funding to have Agriculture classes in high school
  • Future Farmer Clubs

    At the time only boys could join.
    Virginia was the first.
  • Future Farmers of America

    FFA was established.
    The first convention was held in the Hotel Baltimore in Kansas City, Missouri.
  • Official colors

    National Blue and Corn Gold are adopted as the official colors of the FFA
  • FFA History

    New Farmers of America (NFA) formed.
    For African American students study agriculture.
  • Public Law 740

    Gave the FFA a federal charter.
    The law said that each school teaching agriculture must have an FFA Program
