    Smith- Hughes Act established funding for vocational agriculture in highschool.
  • Future Farmers clubs for boys

    Virginia was the first state to have Future Farmers clubs for boys.
  • National Organization

    FFA became a National organization. A network of teachers guided the establishment of FFA as a team effort to establish a club for boys with similar farm interests.
  • NFA

    NFA was formed (New Farmers of America) for black students in the south.
  • Federal Charter from Congress

    FFA became one of a few student organizations to recieve a Federal Charter from Congress (Public Law 740)
  • FFA & NFA

    FFA and NFA merged.

    Girls were allowed in FFA for the first time.

    Name change from Future Farmers of America to National FFA Organization to reflect the growing diversity in the agriculture industry.
