Marxism-Leninism became somewhat of a new religion to many people in Russia.Today, twenty years since the end of the Soviet Union, Marxism-Leninism is still the main ideology in several Soviet Union states. during this time, Chinese communists became opposed to the Soviet Union's communist party accusing it of being bourgeois. Soon the leader made his own amendments to the Marxist-Leninist theory. -
Treaty of Brest-Litovsk
This event brought war with Germany to an end. The treaty was signed at Brest-Litovsk after 2 months of negotiations. They had a meeting to see the votes of what people wanted. 16 voted for Trotsky who wanted to have a holy war against all military nations, including Germany. 32 people voted for a revolutionary war against the Germans. -
People's reaction to the change of the fall of Communism
China had a big part in the reaction of the fall of commuism Russia. China's ruling party had devoted many amounts of time and energy to dissecting the causes of communism's collapse in eastern Europe and the Soviet Union. Some people arent ready for change and they react in a certain way because most people dont like change. If bad change happens, other people may learn from their mistakes and try not to make that change happen . People usually dont like change, and like to keep traditions. -
New leader elected
Elections are held for the new parliament. The night after the elections, a peaceful night of celebration was broken up by Soviet troops. They were ordered to kill people there. They were also ordered not to use live fire - so instead they used poisonous gas and sharpened shovels. Nineteen people ended up dying and most of them were women, This event was a downfall. -
The Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall-the most famous symbol of the Cold War in Europe-came down. That day, the communist leaders of the German Democratic Republic announced the removal of travel restrictions to West Berlin. Thousands of East Germans streamed into the West, and in the night time, people on both sides of the wall began to tear the wall down. This was a big event and I think it could have put a beginning to the fall of the communists in Russia. The reform movement that ended communism in east central. -
Soviet troops break up demonstrations
In mid January, Soviet troops move in to break up demonstrations in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku. At least 100 people die from this, possibly many more. In February Gorbachev responds to mass demonstrations by now allowing multi-party politics and stripping the Communist Party of its monopoly power. -
Yeltsin leaves the communist party.
Boris Yeltsin publicly resigns from the Communist Party. He was still trying to get his vision across to everyone of a new Union of Sovereign Soviet Republics. During this time period, events are moving towards their climax. The fall of Communismn is very high during this because the president is resigning from the commnist party. -
USSR broken
The Soviet Union is entering its final days during this time period. Moscow officially recognised their status as sovereign states on 6 September 1991. Other republics began moves to break away. Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia and Moldova are the first to break away from the others, During the end of this era, Soviet flag was lowered from the Kremlin for the last time! -

In 1991, the Soviet Union disintegrated into fifteen separate countries. Its collapse was favored by the west as a victory for freedom.The United States rejoiced as its enemy was brought down in this event leading to the Fall of Communism. This event took place all mostly in Russia during the whole fall.The major change that brought this country down because the economy went on a big down fall. This is the major change of the whole Fall of Communism.
