France declares war on Prussia. Second french empire against the Kingdom of Prussia. Germany was able to deliver 380,000 troops to the forward zone within 18 days. Germany took the victory.

Treaty of Peace
France was forced to sign the Treaty of Peace. The treaty stated that France would have to pay 5 billion francs to Germany. German army world occupy parts of France until the money was paid. The treaty also recognized Wilhelm I as the Kaiser of the newly united German Empire -
Dual Alliance
The Dual Alliance was an Austro-German treaty which stated that the countries would support each other if Russia were to wage war on them. -
Triple Alliance
The Triple Alliance- this secret agreement was established between Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy to state that the three countries would come to each other’s aid if attacked. -
Tsar Nicholas
Tsar Nicholas was crowned king of Russia – This gave Russia the King that would start their involvement in World War One. He was Cousins with the Czar and King George V – head to the British Throne. -
The Franco-Russian Alliance
The Franco-Russian Alliance was a military alliance between the French Third Republic and the Russian Empire that ran from 1892 to 1917. The alliance ended the diplomatic isolation of France and undermined the supremacy of the German Empire in Europe. France would remain the principal ally of Russia until 1917, from an economical, financial and military point of view. -

Known as the first great war of the 20th century. Japan destroyed the entire Russian army which surprised the rest of the world and humiliated Russia. -
First Balkan War
A war between Turkey, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Montenegro. The combined armies of the Balkan states overcame the numerically inferior and strategically disadvantaged Ottoman armies and achieved rapid success.

Russia was humiliated because of its inability to support Serbia during the Bosnian crisis of 1908 or the First Balkan War, and announced a major reconstruction of its military. -
Second Balkan War
Bulgaria wanted more territory, so they fought with their allies to get it. Romania got Bulgarian capital Sofia. Bulgaria lost Adrianople to Turkey. The ottoman empire also fought to regain territory lost in the first Balkan War. -
Archduke Franz Ferdinand
