    All states have laws in place to provide public funding for school transportation. Every child deserves a chance to physically be in school whether their parents can afford to get them there or not.

    In the Supreme Court Case Brown vs Board of Education of Topeka, the S.C. ruled that "separate educational facilities are inherently unequal" (American Educational History, 2018). This decision is important because the segregation prevented students from receiving equal quality educations.

    Head Start
    The Head Start program begins as a summer school program founded by Jule Sugarman. It is an educational preschool program for children from low-income families. This is important because it gave/gives low-income families the opportunity to enroll their children in pre-school.
  • Personal Computer Invention

    Personal Computer Invention
    IBM introduced the personal computer in 1981. This invention allows us, as teachers, to infuse what is driving this century in our classrooms: technology. New Relic indicates that, " school students who use computers regularly perform better in key school subjects than those with limited computer experience" (2006, para. 2).

    "The Supreme Court set the standard for banning books in 1982 . . . they were "anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Sem[i]tic, and just plain filthy.'" (Education Law, 2018). The S.C. ruled that "school officials may not remove books from the school library simply because they dislike the ideas in the book" this is important because without it, schools could control books that are not to be in the library, eliminating a part of history for those students and limiting their views.
