Education in LSD 2020

  • Plan 1:1

    Create budget, deivice management, user policies, user accounts,
  • Train teachers for 1:1

    Worrk on curriculum units, management of devices, learner engagement, and the integration of Digital Citizenship curriculum/technology skills into the classroom
  • Parent Meetings

    Multiple meetings for parents to see the technology and understand the expectations for class and home use, system securities.
  • Begin 1:1 Deployment

    Begin at one middle school, expand program to the rest of the middle schools by beginning of following year
  • Wireless Project Completed

    All schools within the Lancaster School District will be outfitted with wireless access points-- 60 devices in each room, and outside coverage.
  • Train additional teachers for 1:1 deployment

    This includes all teachers at middle schools in the district. Use teachers from the first pilot as teacher leaders.
    Use data from first pilot to guide implementation of the second wave of implementation.
  • Parent meetings

    Invite parents from the first school pilot to share with the new parents-- learning differences, expecations for users at home and school, system securities.
  • Deploy 1:1 at all middle schools

  • Research LMS for lower grades

    Form a committee to research and pilot LMS for students in lower grades K-5 and 6-8 (if current system does not meet our needs)
  • Recommend LMS to board

    Form a user group to work on train the teacher models, work out the bugs, learn the system.
  • Train teachers in grades 4-6 for 1:1

    Use teachers from previous implementations as teacher leaders. Design curriculum units, classroom expectations of usage, learner objectives, user policies.(as appropriate for grade levels)
  • Parent Meetings

    Parent meetings to explain learner expectations, Changes in the classroom, home and school use, and security systems.
  • Deploy 1:1 at grades 4-6

  • Evaluation of Project

    Evaluate the project-- what needs to be changed or elminiated. What additional supports are needed for students, teachers, parents? Evaluate loss and damage
