    Early America lived off of cash crops and farming and America caused settlers to live off the land and to farm, but there were not enough workers to farm. Indentured servants were common place as it was beneficial for both parties, but indentured servants were expansive so slaves were used to save money.

    Jamestown being the first English settlement in north America the settlers had no Idaho what they were in for as they had no lay of the land and struggled through there first few years. James town being a Corporate Colony did not have the support from England and struggled until the natives helped the settlers and Jamestown gained some wealth. This caught some attention and Jamestown transitioned into a royal colony.

    African indentured servants were brought to Virginia by the Dutch East Indian company, Africans were targeted as they came from a foreign land, foreign culture and foreign language, and they looked different so the Africans were easily targets for slavery. Racism against the Africans was created to keep the Africans in the low class.

    Triangular trade
    Triangular trade was the system were the America’s sent cash crops and riches such as rum, sugar, and tobacco to Europe were the goods were made into manufactured goods like guns, tea, and the such. The manufactured goods were sent to African kings in return for slaves, and the slave would be brought to America were they would labor in the fields to produce cash crops and the cycle will repeat.

    Sermons started to contain less of what the puritans advocated as the sermons started to include more intellectual topics and the love for god spread among the masses. Human sinfulness and the perils of damnation become less talked about as people confused their sins and became saved. This caused a divide in the church anda divide between the church and the law
  • The zenger case

    The zenger case
    The zenger case is important as this cases caused the press to be more bold as the ability to criticize and poke fun at politicians with out consequences. This spawns the American way of expressing opinions without political or religious persecution.
