    Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler
Kepler was a well-known mathematician and astronomer. He is famous for his discovery that the earth and other planets travel in an elliptical orbit around the sun, and he studied the polygonal ratios between the planets, saying that "he was sure of the geometry of the universe." Kepler also expressed his faith in God by stating "The chief aim of all investigations of the external world should be to discover the rational order and harmony which He revealed to us in the language of mathematics.”
  • Blaise Pascal

    Blaise Pascal
In addition to his contributions to mathematics, Pascal was an inventor, physicist, and writer. His notable mathematical works include assisting with the development of the calculus of probabilities, which later became known as the mathematical theory of probabilities. Much of his later years were devoted to religious writings. "There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus."
  • Sir Isaac Newton

    Sir Isaac Newton
Newton was a famous mathematician and scientist whose best known mathematical achievements were his development of the binomial theorem and his work in paving the way for the subject calculus. His later years were dedicated to interpreting scripture. "Godliness consists in the knowledge love & worship of God, Humanity in love, righteousness & good offices towards man.”
  • Gottfried W. Leibniz

    Gottfried W. Leibniz
Leibniz was a prominent mathematician and philosopher who became famous as the developer of infinitesimal calculus. He also created the binary number system that became instrumental in the development of computers. Leibniz is also known as a man having great faith in God. "Thus the final reason of things must be in a necessary substance, in which the variety of particular changes exists only eminently, as in its source; and this substance we call God."
  • Leonhard Euler

    Leonhard Euler
Euler was a great mathematician and physicist who introduced the concept of functions. He is also responsible for the discovery of the number "e" (2.71828...), as well as the notation "i" to represent the imaginary unit. He was also known as a committed Christian and a strong believer of the Bible. "Since the fabric of the universe is most perfect and the work of a most wise Creator, nothing at all takes place in the universe in which some rule of maximum or minimum does not appear”
  • Charles Babbage

    Charles Babbage
Babbage is known today as the "father of computers" for his work on his analytical engine that laid the foundation for the creation of modern computers. He was a reknowned mathematician, inventor, and mechanical engineer, as well as a man with deep faith in God. “We take the highest and best of human faculties, and, exalting them in our imagination to an unlimited extent, endeavour to attain an imperfect conception of that Infinite Power which created every thing around us."
