Mechanical Clock
Liang Ling-Can invents the first mechanical clock. We use clocks every day. Time is a big priority these days. I know that without a clock a lot of people would be late to many things. -
Calculating Clock
Wilhelm Schickard invented this mechanical calculator and called it the "Calculating Clock". He made this to multiply large numbers. This is important because it was the first step to the calculators that we have now. -
Binary Mathematics
The binary math system is a number system based on a 2 number system. The person who introduced it was named Leibniz. I chose this because we use the binary system with computers dealing with bytes. -
Typewriter
William Austin Burt invents a typewriter. It is pretty slow and not very good but it is the first writing machine. I picked this because this leads to better typewriters and keyboards. -
Telegraph
Samuel Morse comes up with the idea of the telegraph. He also comes up with the Morse code-dot dot dash. This leads up to the invention of like a phone and letters by communicating with others. -
First Hard Drive
IBM creates the very first hard drive. It had fifty 24 inch disks. It has 5 MB of storage and cost more than US$1,000,000. This is one of the big inventions because we use hard drives tons today. It stores and saves all of the work we have done on the computer. -
E-mail
Email was invented. By Ray Tomlinson. Many people use e-mail. It is a great way to keep in touch with others or send them information without sending a big huge long text. This is one of the great inventions of our time. -
Antikythera Device
This is a bronze mechanical lunar month calander. It was made in Greece. I picked this because of the importance of calanders that we have now. -
Google
Google is an amazing thing. You can find pretty much any answer you need through it. I picked this because I use it every day. -
Xbox
Bill Gates came up with the Xbox. He does it on Jan 7, 2011. A lot of people use the Xbox, some more than others. I picked this becuase I like to play on the Xbox. -
Skype
If you want to talk to people and still be able to see them at the same time, that is what Skype is for. Many people use this to talk to their relatives they havent seen for a while. This is important so that you are able to keep in touch, I have also used Skype. Ebay comes up with this. In 2006 they had over 100 million users.
