John white left Roanoke to request resources from England. When he had come back there was nothing to be seen it was like all the settlers disappeared off the face of the earth. Jamestown
With Roanoke being a failure. New arrival of settlers landed in Virginia. They set up the colony Jamestown. They lost over half of their settlers during the harsh winter. The Disease at Jamestown was making it harsh for them to live, plus they couldn't grow crops in the sandy soil. Originally a Dutch colony. King Charles gave James or soon to be King James II proprietary on the colony he then to New Amsterdam and made it into New York. The house of Burgesses was basically the first example of real government that we have seen back then. It was all mainly a democracy where instead of Martial Law they used Legislative law also known as General Assembly. Mayflower/Plymouth/Mayflower Compact
The Mayflower compact was a pre set of rules that people on the Mayflower signed and agreed to before getting to land. Partial reason for this was because the landed in cape cop on their way to Virginia. Its not so bad until they realized some people might not like cape cod and might try to start a mutiny. Great Migration

Massachusetts Bay colony was a British settlement. The first settlers (puritans)got a charter from King Charles meaning that they could set up there own government. This place was found during the great puritan migration. They got this land for business and religion. Connecticut was an English Colony in New England. After struggles with the Dutch English had finally gotten control over the colony. Later on the Natives that inhabited the land had gotten into bloody war with the English over territory. Carolina
Under a Charter from Queen Elizabeth to Sir Walter they settled in the Carolinas. After the failure at Roanoke they tried to find other land to take. Large Groups of Laborers (Slaves) took up more than half the people in the Carolinas. Bacon's Rebellion
Bacons rebellion began when farmers started to take a stand against government oppression. This was the first rebellion in which frontiersman took action along with others. A big impact from this rebellion is that taxes got lowered racial issues sort of got some light there. The Rebellion was led my Nathaniel Bacon. Salem WItch Trials

Rhode Island
Rhode Island was family oriented. Roger Williams founded Rhode Island and became the minister. Then he decided to tell the people lets stop taking Indian Land and then he got banished. The Great Awakening
It was preachers going from town to town preaching the word of god. Also known as the Enlightenment this was because a passion for Religion had sparked in the state. Many of them started to want to be more and more religious. Jonathan Edwards had a speech called "Sinner's in the Hands of an Angry God". Albany Plan
The Albany Plan was basically a way t make on single government. It was just a way to make a strong union while the French and Indian war were going on. This was brought up by Benjamin Franklin. Maryland was Catholic safe haven. The Main Cash crop is tobacco, they have fertile soil there.
