    Winston Churchill was concerned about the Soviets taking over Eastern Europe and creating totalitarian governments and he wanted the United states to be involved. The iron curtain was a division between Western European capitalist countries and Eastern European communist countries.

    Truman doctrine happened March 12, 1947. The united states was involved in it.It mainly happened in the Mediterranean side. This happened because of Truman he had pledged that the united states would help any nation resist to communism. This happened because the U.S should have provided political, economic and military assistance.
  • Marshall plan

    The Marshall plan happened on April 3, 1948. George Marshall was involved in the Marshall plan. Basically this event was helping the western Europe in there devastation. This event takes place in Europe. It happened because they wanted to help them recover the aid they got after the war.

    The Berlin Airlift happened in 1948.There was three who were in involved, President Truman (USA), Winston Churchill (UK) and Josef Stalin (Soviet Union).British pilots started to bring food and supplies by airplane to Berlin after the city is isolated by a Soviet Union blockade.This event was all located in West Berlin, and Berlin. when the world war 2 they had defeated Germany and it was divided into Soviet, American, British and French zones of occupation.

    On October 1, 1949 the communist party take over China. it all started with Mao Zedong and then it led up to the proclamation of the People's Republic of China. it all happened in China.

    This happened April 4, 1949.The NATO was a formal alliance between the territories of North America and Europe.This all happened in Washington D.C. This event all happened containing the Soviet Union (USSR) and stop the expansion of Communism in Europe. This all started when The North Atlantic treaty organization had created the nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.

    The United Nations, with the United States as the principal participant and the Soviet Union were involved.It began when the North Korean Communist army crossed the 38th Parallel and invaded non-Communist South Korea. This event began on June 25, 1950. Both sides blamed each other but The north, led by communist Kim Il-Sung, was helped mostly by People's Republic of China, and the USSR.

    Vietnam war

    It all started on November 1, 1955 and ended April 30, 1975.South Vietnam was forced by anti-communist countries and members of the South East Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) which included the United States, South Korea, Australia, the Philippines, New Zealand, Thailand, Khmer Republic (later overthrown by Khmer Rouge), Kingdom of Laos and Republic of China (Taiwan). They all pretty much were against them. Basically North was against South Vietnam.

    This happened on Oct 23 1956 to November 10 1956. It was the soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev.It was a popular uprising in Hungary. This all happened in Hungary and the Hungarian people republic. The revolt of Hungary was considered as by many as the nations greatest tragedy.Thousands were killed and wounded and nearly a quarter-million Hungarians fled the country. it was all because of protester in the streets troubled a a more democratic political system and freedom from Soviet oppression.

    The sputnik all happened October 4, 1957. The soviet union was involved in all this.The Soviet Union had launched the earth's first artificial satellite, Sputnik I. I believed that Russia was where it all happened.This all happened because the succeeded launch came as a shock to experts and citizens in the United States, who had hoped that the United States would accomplish this scientific advancement first. Both the soviet union and the united states were working and developing new technology.

    The Great Leap Forward happened January 1958. But it was then discontinued in 1961. This plan was supposed to last 5 years. Mao Zedong was all involved in this.The Great Leap Forward was a result of a successful forward economic reconstruction. This all took place in China but then they went against America. This was all intended to modernize the Chinese economy following the communist revolution. They considered the condition of ripe for the great leap forward.

There was three different events in this program, there was, The Saturn V (5) rocket was used for the moon landing missions; On the last three Apollo missions, astronauts drove a lunar rover on the moon.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis started October 1962 and it was a very dangerous confrontation between the United states and the Soviet Union. The soviet union began building missiles sites in Cuba. It was the moment when the Cold war came closest to a nuclear war.
