  • Battle of Galveston

    Battle of Galveston
    The battle took place in Galveston Harbor in Galveston, Texas. Union troops were attempting to block the harbor due to the location being known as a vital part of the Confederate's supply supply chain, yet the Confederates decided enough was enough and fired back. The Union ended up surrendering which resulted in a Confederate victory and Galveston was back under their control.

    About a year after the first battle, despite having control over land, the Union failed to put it to good use. This allowed the Confederates to take this opportunity to use the land to its full potential. They established Fort Griffin and put on one of the most defensive stands in the history of warfare. Despite being greatly outnumbered, the Confederates defeated the Union, causing a big defeat for them while a big victory for themselves.
  • Battle of Palmito Ranch

    This battle lasted for two days starting on May 12th of 1865 and then ending on May 13th of 1865. Union troops were searching for reported Confederate camps and outposts as part of a dispatched expedition. Once they have reached the supposed place, they found no one. Luckily, they were able to gain information about the troops' actual whereabouts and the Union headed to Palmito Ranch. However, the Union retreated, causing a Confederate victory.
