    The Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was the agreement between the allies and Germany which ended World War One. In this agreement Germany was blamed for all of the economic and political turmoil which followed the frst great war, and all the debt from the war was given to them. Becasue of this agereement the allies felt repentant, which is origonally why they failed to act act when Nazi-Germany started mobilizing troops in the Rhineland.

    The stock market crash started the great depression, which is what hitler used to gain a good reputation in germany as he repaired the damaged german economy. This also is what made it hard for the allies to origonally act on hitler as he defied the treaty of versailles. When hitler brought germany out of the depression before other major cuontries he was looked on as a nationaly hero, and this is why he was tolerated as long as he was.

    HItler's rise to power was not origonally suported by many of the german people. and he had to use the resentment and economic depression as leverage to gain power. After being appointed to chancellor he reused to step down and turned the previous existing government into the third reich.

    Germany Moves Troops Into the Rhineland
    This was the first event which went against the Treaty of Versailles, that; "the Rhineland was to stay a demilitarized zone." Hitler was testing the allies, and had given his troops orders to retreat if the allies advanced, which they didnt. This was lkely becuase they were preoccupied with Ethiopia and Italy, the "Abyssinia Crisis."

    Adolf hitler invited the austiran chancellor to a meeting at which he demanded concessions for the Austrian Nazi Party. The austiran chancellor declined, and resigned, and was replaced by the leader of the austrian nazi party. Soon after the german army was invited to occupy Austria and Anschluss was proclamied.

    German Annexation and Ocupation of Czechoslovakia
    After the Anschluss, Hitler wanted to take over Czechoslovakia. He started by annexing the northern and western border regions of Czechoslovakia. At this pont the allies acted making a treaty which prevented Hitler taking any mroe parts of Czechoslovakia. This treaty was subsequently ignored, and on the 16th, the wehrmacht moved into position, with no resistance.
