  • Treaty of Paris

    Britain claimed all land east of the Mississipi river. They gave Spain new orleans. They also gave the spanish cuba and The phillipines for florida.

    Proclamation of 1763
    This forbade colonist to settle west of the appalachians. The colonist were angered, because they thought they had fought for the right to settle there.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The act taxed sugar, molasses, and other shipped products to the colonies. The colonist were upset and said no taxation without representation, because they were not represented in Parliament.
  • Stamp Act

    The act required all legal documents and commercial documents to carry an officail stamp showing that tax has been paid.

    A cost-saving measure that the british used in the colonies to quarter, or house, British soldiers and provide them with supplies.

    a group of youth and dock workers, including Crispis Attucks started insulting british troop in front of the Customs House, a fight broke out and soldiers fired at them, and attucks and four laborers were killed.

    A group of men disgused as native americans, boarded three tea ships docked in the bay of boston. THey destroyed 342 chest full of tea. The colonist thougth that this would show Britian how strongly they opposed taxation. This helped start the revolutionary war.

    The first battles of the revolutionary war. The british went to destroy supplies in concord and capture Sam Adams and John Hancock in Lexington. The americans were alerted of this because of Paul Revere, and William Dawes.

    The second ontinetal congress was created after the warefare of the revolutionary war. They decided on having a continetal army, who would lead it. They also voted for independence in July.

    Militiamen seize bunker and breeds hill behind Charlestown. The fortified Breed hill, and the Alarmed British attacked. More than 1,00 british troops were killed, and the militiamen lost about 400 casualties. The moral victory went to the Americans, but they lost the battle. The americans became cocky, thinking they were better than they really were.

    Wasington crossed the delaware to attack the hessian in Trenton. He had to attack because most of jis men would leave, due to the one year enlistments. The hessians had their guard down, because it was christmas. Washington won with little resistance.
