    The Niagara Movement was formed by civil rights activists to fight for the civil rights of blacks.
  • Publication of the Jungle by Upton Sinclair

    The Jungle was written to represent the struggles of labor workers, but instead invoked attention to the meat packing processes in America’s food and inspired the Meat Inspection Act of 1906.
  • Passage of the Meat Inspection Act

    This Act ensured that animals were Inspected and deemed healthy enough for consuming. These inspectors were sent from the government itself and were sent to every meat packing factory.
