    The Sugar Act was passed by the Parliment of Great Britain. It was a tax on sugar and it was half of the one on molasses and Parliament hoped this tax would actually be collected. It was passed April 5, 1764 in Great Britain on the Colonies. It was passed to pay for an army.
  • Comittees of Correspondence

    Comittees of Correspondence
    The Commitees of Correspondence were shadow governments organized by Patriot Leaders formed in the colonies. Samuel Adams formed the Commitees of Correspondence. The members shared information about British laws and ways to challenge them.
  • Stamp Act of 1765

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British and required the colonists to pay for a stamp when they bought British items. It was a law for the colonists. It was passed to help pay for British troops in America after the British won the Seven Year's War.
  • Sons of Liberty

    Sons of Liberty
    The Sons of Liberty were a secret society that frightened British tax collectors with violence. The Sons of Lierty were in the colonies. The Sons of Liberty were formed in protest of the Stamp Act.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    The Townshend Acts were formed by Charles Townshend. They were a tax placed on the colonies on glass, paint, paper, pottery, etc. They were a tax on the Colonies to pay salaries for government officials and judges.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre was when British troops opened fire on colonists. They did this because the colonists were protesting and throwing things at them. This happened in Boston.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act allowed the British East India Company to sell tea directly to the colonies. this was passed by the British Parliament. It was a law enforced on the colonies.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was when the colonists were outraged by the tea act. British ships showed up in their harbor and colonists dressed like indians threw all of the tea in the harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    The Intolerable Acts were a set of five laws that were the British Parliament's responce to the Boston Tea Party. The acts included the boston port act and the quartering act. This was a law enforced on the colonies.
