Proclamation of 1763
Document that ended the war between the French and British. They split the land in half between the Indians and the colonists -
The Sugar Act
The British put tax on sugar and increased taxes on coffee, indigo, and wine. They did this for money. -
The Stamp Act
The British put tax on every piece of printed paper the colonists used. This was passed by Parliament. -
The Quartering Act
These acts required the colonists to provide supplies for the British soldiers. This was an indirect tax for the colonist. -
Townshend Acts
The townshend acts was an act that limited British colonist, It only granted them certain priveliges in a way. This act put a tax on many prducts such as glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, coffe, coco, and tea. This eventually led to violence in 1768 because of a misunderstanding or trading regulations. -
Boston Massacre
A brawl between English soldiers and colonist. Colonist threw stones and snowballs at a group of soldiers and shouted vile things to them. As the colonist got closer and closer the soldiers began to fire and five unarmed coloist died. One of them being Chrispus Attauks an escaped slave. -
The Intolerable Acts
Becasue the British was lost so much money on traded goods that were destroyed. They created this act to take all taxes off of the goods except for tea. On this same day the Boston Massacre occured a short while after. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act gave a tax break to the East India Tea Company. This company lost money because of the Townshend Acts. -
The Boston Tea Party
When Sam Adams and the Sons of Liberty sent a message tot the governer of Massachusetts asking that British ships that carry tea leave the harbor. But there ropsal was declined and they acted out in violence. They rebelled by dressing up like indians, stormed the ships, and dumped all of the ships tea into the harbor all in the cover of night. -
Lexington and Concord
Britians General Gage sent his soldiers to capture Sam Adams and John Hancock at Lexington. After the capturing he sent them to Concord to take the gunpowder that was being held there. Although his plan was well thought out, Adams and Hancock heard about this plan and fled for safety
