Russia, Prussia, and Austria came together and signed a treaty stating all three countries receive one third of the country of Poland. They claimed each part as their own. -

Russia, Prussia, and Austria is split into thirds and is awarded to the countries. The parition took approximately half of the population of Poland, and about 81,500 miles of its land. Russia gained all of Polish territory east of the line formed by the Dvina, and Dnieper rivers. Prussia gained most of the northern territory of Poland. And, Austria gained Poland's region south of the Vistula River. -
