  • French and Indian war

    Put brittish in debt and thay needed a lot of money too pay for the war. So they decided to put taxes on the colonist
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Britain did not allow the colonists to seetle west of the Appalachians. The colonists were angerd by this for obvious reasons, and for the first time they felt hostility towards mother England.
  • Sugar Act of 1764

    In order to have a successful collection, the British decided to cut the rate in half and enforce stricter measures to collect tax. This concerned the colonists and the impending tax collection led to the American Revolution. basicly they put taxes on sugar
  • Stamp Act of 1765

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament on March 22, 1765. The new tax was imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used.
  • Writs of assistance

    The Writs of Assistance allowed British officials to issue blank warrants in America. That meant that those officials could search a house without having to explain to cause.

    The Townshend Acts were a string of laws that passed at the onset of 1767 by the Parliament of Great Britain.
