Nikki is born
My little sister, Nikki, was born. I was no longer the baby and i was no longer the youngest. After Nikki wsas born, I had to take on the role of a big sister. I became her best friend and her protector. As we got older, I loved to play with and to fight with her. We were inseparable. -
Off to School I Go
I started kindergarten. Before starting school, I was pretty quiet. I met Mallory my first day of class. She was anything but quiet. Playing with Mallory changed how I interacted with children my own age. I found that being "loud" or outgoing was a good thing. -
Mrs. Brenner
Mrs. Brenner was my third grade teacher. She was an amzingteacher. Something she always said to me was, "great things come in small packages". She always praised me for work and told me that I could amount to great things and I believed her and, in turn, I believed in myself. -
Alloie Madrid
In September of 2001, my aunt passed away leaving her thirteen year old son without an immediate family. My parents and family decided to adopt Alloie. He is two years older than me. So, for me, I had to adjust to having another older brother. I had to find my own way of connecting with a brother that was close to my age. -
Nursery
I began working in the nursery at my Church. I loved evry minute of it. During that itme, I realized that I was supposed to work with children and every job after that point was working with children. -
Working in the Special Education classroom
I got a job working in a Special education classroom. I already knew that I wanted to work with children. At this point, I found that I especially wanted to work with children with special needs. -
I moved out
I moved out of my parents home and learned to take care of myself. I am so grateful that I did because I was able to learn how to support myself before supporting someone else. I also learned how to live with others that were not my family members. -
I got married!!
I got married last December. Living with my husband is very different than living with another girl. I have had to go through the process of learning to live with another personality again. I am still going through that process. -
Teachers College
I began the professional program in the teachers college and am very determined to do well in my courses to become the best teacher that I can be.
