This was the very begining of the European conflict of the second world war. What makes this event more important than the invasion of Manchuria was this event would lead up to the horrors of consentration camps and massacres of Stalingrad and other Russian cities. -

This event provoked the USA to participate in the war. Ultimately, the USA would contribute in D-Day and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, making this event more significant than the fall of Singapore. -
Nagasaki Atomic Bombing
The Nagasaki Bombing was the second demonstation of the nuclear bomb's destructive power. The bomb flattened the city and killed thousands, many more died from radiation poisoning. The casualties of this bombing makes this event more significant than the Blitz. -
