Democritus lived in Abdera, Greece Democritus formed the first atomic theory. He believed that everything was made of atoms and that atoms are indivisible particles that differ in both shape and size. By Democitus making the idea of this theory it lead to many people to end up working on this idea which almost made it true.
  • Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton lived in Cambridge, England
Isaac Newton suggested that there was a mechanical universe made up of small solid masses that are always in motion
This theory that Isaac Newton put forward help give ideas to other scientists such as John Dalton .
  • Antoine Lavoisier

Antoine Lavoisier lived in Paris, France. Antoine formulated the theory of conversation of mass. Which discovered that although matter changes, mass always stays the same and could not be created or destroyed. This supported Democritus’s theory. He also showed that compounds are just combinations of different types of atoms. By Lavoisier doing this is supported Democritius Theory and later gave more support to the atomic theory from all of his discoverys.
  • John Dalton

Dalton lived in Manchester, England John Dalton found out that there was something causing these particles to bounce of one and other
By Dalton Finding these facts and looking into it he came up with a theory which was the core structure to the theory today
  • Dmitri Mendeleev

Dmitri Mendeleev lived in Saint Petersburg
He was the person who invented the periodic table which organized all of the elements that were been found.
By Mendeleev making the periodic table was a brilliant way of organizing the elements that one where already known and help figure out the new elements because they fit perfect.
  • Wilhelm Roentgen

Wilhelm Roentgen lived in Remscheid Germany He discoverd while using a CRT, he observed nearby chemicals that glowed. Some of the rays weren't deflected by the magnetic field. He called these rays X-Rays. By Roentgen making this discovery he helped people be able to have x-rays and it helps out medical treatments by telling if bones are broken
  • Joseph Thomson

Joseph Thompson lived in Cambridge, England
He discovered that in the atomic theory that atoms had these thing called electrons he also discovered isotopes
His discovery’s helped the atomic theory by adding extra parts to this atom that was starting to form over the years which eventually Bohr put all the pieces together.
  • Max Planck

Max Planck lived in Berlin, Germany He initiated the Quantum theory, which explains the construct of energy states in atoms. By Max Planck discovering this scientests where able to find out more acurately how atoms maybe a isotopes or normal
  • Robert Millikan

Robert Millikan lived in Morrison, Illinois, U.S
Robert Millikan discovered that electrons charges could change he did this by spraying oil and then having them fall through an electrostaic field and kept adjusting this until they stopped falling completely
When Robert Discovered this it helped scientists for the future by allowing them to manipulate atoms by using friction
  • Ernest Rutherford

Ernest Rutherford was born in New Zealand and later moved to Manchester
He helped the atomic theory by being the one to discover the nucleolus in atom
By Rutherford discovering this he opened many doors to this Atomic Theory and helped science be science as it is today.
  • James Chadwick

James Chadwick was lived in Cambridge, England Chadwick proved the existance of neutron. He discoverd a particle within the nucleus that has a mass similar to that of a proton. James Chadwick by him making this discovery he was able to put more info into the the whole Atomic theory
  • Niels Bohr

Niels Bohr lived in Aeresbolig, Denmark
Neils Bohr Helped the Atomic Theory by giving a actual structure diagram of a atomic atom, which helped science but people being able to base all info in the atomic theory to go with this.
By Bohr making this structure of the atom for the atomic theory helped them by allowing them to now base everything that they can do forward from now has a diagram or template to follow.
  • John Crockford

John Crockford lived in Cambridge, England He Built the early linear accelerrator and bombarded lithium with protons to produce alpha particles. They split the atom for the first time. This later lead to the atomic bomb that ended World War 2. By Crockford discovering the alpha particles he knew he had be able to split a atom for the first time which lead to bombs and other things that could do this to.
  • Ernest Lawrence

Ernest Lawrence lived in Palo Alto, California He invented the cyclotron and recognized the potential for medical isotopes. Isotopes are used to make medicines. When radioactive isotopes are introduced to the body, they give off an energy or radiation that can be tracked by imaging equipment. This allows doctors to more efficiently pinpoint exactly where the diseased tissue is. Image scanning using radioactive isotopes is more finely detailed and more accurate than MRI scans
  • Werner Heisenberg

Isaac Newton lived in Cambridge, England
Isaac Newton suggested that there was a mechanical universe made up of small solid masses that are always in motion
This theory that Isaac Newton put forward help give ideas to other scientists such as John Dalton .
