    Pixley ka lsaka appealed to africans to unite. it was establised to obtain equality and cival rights through nonviolent and peaceful actions in south africa.
  • congress youth league founded

    this was the youth wing of african national ccongress, it was formed by anc memebers who beleivied in african nationalism and wanted to follow a policy to get the country going.
  • defiancy campaign

    a campaign against unjust laws presented by anc at at confrence in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
  • Albert luthui wins nobel peace prize

    the first black president of the anc to win the prize for his role in the struggle against apartheid. however government refused to allow Luthuli to accapt until a year later.
  • Sharpeville Massacre

    South African police opened fire on a crowed of 5000 demonstrators protesting agianst the pass laws. 180 black africans were injured, 69 died.

    general secetary of south african council of churches. he helped solve the aprtheid problem in south africa, condonig world peace.
  • nelson mandela released from prison

    Iniatially in jail for sabatoging the apartheid government he was released after 27 years on what was supposed to be a life sentence.
  • nelson mandela becomes president of south africa

    free presidential election, he becomes president for ending apartheid and tireless activism.
