  • The Proclamation Of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 was a proclamation that declared how the North American land would be split between Spain and Great Britain, Great Britain being the one that decides who gets what land, as long as Spain agrees. (if it is their land)
  • The Stamp Act

    In may of 1765 The Stamp Act was passed to gain money for Great Britain, as the Stamp Act taxed the colonists on almost all printed material in the colonies that they owned, all of the items had to have a stamp, which was given by British officials.
  • The Declaratory Act

    In 1766 the Declaratory Act was passed, stating that the Parliament had a right to tax and make decisions for the British colonies without their volition "in all cases".
  • Townshend Acts

    In 1767 Parliament passed a set of laws called the Townshend Acts, which taxed imported goods only, making them pay at the entered port, taxing even the most important things because they had to be imported, due to their lack of producing them, which greatly angered the colonists.
  • Boston Massacre

    British Parliament sent an army into the colonies to set up in Boston, the colonists were angry that this had hapened as they said that it violated their rights and they organized an attack towards them after the Army had been treating the colonists very poorly, along with taking their jobs. On March 5, 1770 the colonists struck out and five colonists were struck dead by the army and word was spread, causing boycotts and forcing Parliament to repeal all townshend acts except for the one on tea.
  • The Tea Act is passed

    British Parliament repealed all of the Townshend Acts except for the Tea Act, which was the act that taxed the colonists on tea when imported from Britain.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea party occurred December 16, 1773, when Three ships arrived at the Boston harbor to import tea and the royal governor would not let them leave as the Boston sons of liberty unloaded the ship, a group of men later arrived disguised as Mohawks with hatchets boarded the ships at midnight and threw 342 chests of tea overboard.
  • Coercive Acts are Passed

    The coercive Acts were passed in 1774 and closed Boston Harbor until the Massachusetts colonists paid for the tea that was wasted, whoch stopped the arrival of food and other supplies normally imported. The laws also took away certain rights from the Massachusetts colonists, such as town meetings. Another law made it possible for them to be tried in other colonies or in Britain.
  • The Quebec Act is passed

    The Quebec act was a law made by the British Parliament in 1774 to keep the colonists in order, kkeping tem loyal to the British parliament.
  • The Battles of Lexington and Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord occurred on April 19, 1775, beginnning the American Revolutionary War, which lasted for three years.
