With the assistance of Baron von Stueben and Marquis de Lafayette, the period from start to finish would be hard work as the winter would be incredibly harsh. Valley Forge would not only reform the Continental Army, but would also show their endurance, dedication, and resilience for the right of their freedom.

    The Battle of Charleston was a major win for the British. When Horatio Gates, the Commander of this battle for the Americans, reached Camden, most of his men were tired and hungry. Plus, Gates was under the impression that he outnumbered Charles Lord Cornwallis, the commander for the British, by two-to-one. This battle was a devastating defeat for the Americans in which the British had far less soldiers and still managed to decimate the American army with less casualties.

    A huge win for the British as they demolished a massive American army compared to their own Army. When Horatio Gates, commander of the Americans, reached Camden, most of his men were tired and hungry.   • The Battle of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens
    This battle became a major win for the Americans as they had previously been losing most of their battles in the south for a long while. Commander of the Americans, Daniel Morgan, had his army formed into three lines. In the middle were the militia, and in the back were experienced Continentals. As the militia faced the British, Morgan ordered his men to retreat and reform with the Continentals. This gave Banastre Tarleton, commander of the British, the idea that the Americans were retreating.

    The Seige of Yorktown
    A major win for the Americans and French as well as being the last battle of the American Revolution. On October 14, the French and Americans launched their assault. After brutal hand-to-hand fighting, the British were beaten and the French and Americans surrounded the British on three sides. Then the British negotiated surrendering, and on October 19, 1781, the British surrendered.
  • The Treaty of Paris

    The Treaty of Paris
    This treaty was significant as it recognized America as its own independent country and ended the war between America and Britain. From the American side, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, John Jay, and Henry Laurens came to sign the treaty. From the British side, Richard Oswald and David Hartle came to sign the treaty.
