The Boston Tea Party was when people in Boston got tired of the control that Britain had put on the importation of their tea. People got together, dressed as Indians, and dumped all of the tea from the ships into the Boston Harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
(There was no month or day) The Intolerable Acts were acts issued by the British government for the colonies. These particular acts were in response to the Boston Tea Party and a sort of punishment. The acts consisted of shutting down Boston's major port, the Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act. -

The Battle of Lexington and Concord (the shot heard around the world) was the start of the American Revolution. The military was outnumbered. -
Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress was the second meeting of officials from each of the thirteen colonies. At the first meeting, the Articles of Confederation was formed. At the second meeting, however, the Declaration of Independence was formed. -
"Common Sense"
"Common Sense" was a pamphlet written by Thomas Paine that basically pointed out why it only made sense for the colonies to become independent. This pamphlet is said to be one of the main reasons that so many people decided to fight for the freedom of the colonies. -

The Declaration of Independence was formed by the second Continental Congress. It stated that the colonies would officially be the united States of America. -
Battles of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga is known as the turning point of the American Revolution. This battle was a decisive American victory. The British had severe losses. -
Articles of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation was written by the first Continental Congress and was the first attempt at a Constitution. However, there were many flaws with the Articles and basically allowed for as many laws as the people wanted but with no way for them to be enforced. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown is the battle where Cornwallis was cornered by American troops and eventually surrendered. This battle ended any British hope for victory and also ended the Revolutionary War.
