  • The 15th Amendment

    This amendment gives black males the right to vote. It didn't apply to women. There votes still didn't really count.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    This was the peace settlement that was signed after WWI. This treaty said that Germany had to pay for it. It was signed in a palace near Paris.
  • The completion of the Panama Canal

    It is a water passage between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. France tried to build a water way first but it failed. The canal is important to world shipping.
  • Assassination of Franz Ferdinand

    He was the oldest son. He was in the AustroHungarian Army in 1883. He was a captain, a major and colonel and a general in the military.
  • U.S. Entry into WWI

    Woodrow Wilson tried to keep the U.S. out of the war. The U.S. successfully stopped war supplies to Germany. This war was 4 years long.
  • The 19th Amendment

    This was the right for women to vote. It was first introduced in 1878 by Susan B. Anthony. It was unsuccessfully challenged.
  • Hitler invades Poland

    It lead to WWII. Germany had the support from the Soviet Union. It was a quick invasion, 2 months.
  • Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor

    It was a sneak air attack. It was attempt to take out U.S. naval bases. The U.S. entered the war after the bombing.
  • Executive Order 9066

    F.D.R. was president. He ordered during WWII Japanese immigrants to relocation camps.
  • U.S. Drops first Atomic bomb in Japan

    The bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
  • U.S. drops second Atomic bomb in Japa

    The name of the place that was bombed was called Nagasaki.
  • First U.S. military advisors were sent into Vietnam

    JFK sent in advisorsto help train and prepare for the war with the North. LBJ was the first president to send troops into the war in Vietnam. Nixon was the president who returned the troops home.
  • March on Washington

    This was the civil rights march on Washington D.C. There were approx. 250,000 people there. It was the largest demonstration seen in the nations capital.
  • John F. Kennedy assassinated

    He was supposedly having an affair with Marilyn Monroe. He was killed by Lee H. Oswald. Jack Ruby killed Oswald before he could go to trial.
  • First combat troops sent to Vietnam

    Johnson was the president at this time. We helped South Vietnam. North Vietnam was Communist.
  • Martin L. King Assassinated

    His real name was Michael. He was 15 when he graduated from H.S. He was a preacher.
  • Vietnam War ends

    This war started in 1961. Jane Fonda openly didn't support this war. There were a lot of American casualties.
  • U.S. Supports Afghanistan from invasion of the Soviet Union U.S.S.R.

    It was a nine year proxy war during the cold war. It was an attempt to prevent communisim from spreading. The final troop withdraw ended May 15, 1988.
  • U.N. resolution 678

    It stated Iraq to withdraw its forces from Kuwait. Despite the U.N. efforts, Iraq continued to defy. It was adopted 12 votes against 2.
  • U.N. Begins bombing against Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait

    This was called operation desert storm. Hussein accuses Kuwait of oil overproduction. Presient Bush freezes Iraqi and Kuwati assets.
  • U.N. Declares Victory in The Persian Gulf War

    It was called operation desert storm. It was because Hussain invaded Kuwaitt. It started with an aieral bombing.
