who sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a route to Asia but achieved fame by making landfall in the Americas instead. Its because wouldnt have discovered America and we still would have thought the world was flat. -
Jamestown Discovered
After unsuccessful attempts to establish settlements in Newfoundland and at Roanoke, the famous "Lost Colony," off the coast of present-day North Carolina, England established its first permanent North American settlement, Jamestown, in 1607. -

Slavery is made illegal in the Northwest Territory. The U.S. Constitution states that Congress may not ban the slave trade until 1808. That affects America because it took a step closer in making everyone equal because we are all humans. -
