    Prince Henry The Navigator
    Prrince Henry the navigator he was son of the king of Portugal. Henry set up the first European school for navigators in Sagres, Portugal. He sent parties of explorers south along Africa's west coast, they discovered the the Gold Coast and Cape Verde.

    He explored after King Henrys death, he crossed the equator. Europeans discovered tht the sea did not boil and was not the home of monsters. In 1487 he readied ships for a long hard voyage. He touched several points on Africas west coast.

    He was a skilled navigator from Genoa Italy. He believed the world was round, not flat. So he thought he can reach Asia by sailing west. He set sail from Spain In August 1492 with three ships Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria and a crew of about 90 sailors. He saw the Bahamas ans=d sailed around there then one of his ships got wrecked and he sailed back to Spain on the Nina.

    He is a Portuguese noble who led a convoy or a group of four ships down the Tagus River from Lisbon, Portugal. After four months at sea, da Gama's convoy rounded the Cape of Good Hope.He also went to Malindi and Calicut. The trip back to Libson took 13 Months.
