    The Incas believed in many gods. Inti, the sun god, was the supreme god and Mamaquilla, the moon god, was Inti's wife. The Incas built many temples to different gods to honor and worship them.

    The Incas had the finest textiles that the Spanish mistook them for silk when it was actually Incan cotton. Incan artists worked with various ceramics, silver, and gold. The Incan culture was rich with music and dance.

    Spanish Conquest

    Spanish Conquest
    The Incan empire was invaded my armed soldiers who reached their borders in 1532. The Spaniards imprisoned Atahualpa, their leader, and the Incas paid a huge amount of gold and silver to get their leader back and the Spanish executed him and took over the empire. This llama figurine was a precious metal but most of it was melted down after the Incas tried to fund the Spanish court activities.

    The Spanish brought Roman Catholic Religion to Bolivia. Today, 95% of the population are Catholics. However, Catholicism is mixed with ingenious beliefs. The rest 5% are considered Protestant.

    Paraguay and Bolivia had a border dispute over a piece of land that they believed had lots of oil in it. The war lasted 3 years and they ended up not finding the oil at all.
